It’s prom season! High-school girls everywhere are all flocking to the stores trying to find the perfect dress for the event of the year. While some will be pretty in pink, others will be left feeling more like Cinderella because they simply can’t afford the dress of their dreams.

GLOSS is proud to support the KW Princess Project. It’s a local non-profit that not only helps promote self-confidence and individual beauty within young girls but gives you, our fashion faithful customers, the chance to recycle dresses, shoes, and accessories that would otherwise collect dust in your closet.

We are thrilled to have collected about a dozen dresses so far and although we will be accepting dresses throughout the year, we are hoping to get lots more for this season. So next time you’re in looking through our latest collections, bring in an old dress and we will make sure to fit you with a new one.

Over the past few weeks we have been collecting pictures of our new arrivals as they come in.  We dress our headless mannequin and snap away.  There are some real advantages to the mannequin shots, we don’t have to worry about hair and makeup, there are no retakes due to eyes being closed.  She never asks ” Does this make me look fat?” Call us crazy but we miss the qualities that a real live model brings to the shoot.  Some people think that mannequins have the perfect proportions, not us!  We love to see our clothing on real people.  This is where the fun begins.  We got to thinking of some of the beautiful customers that we have shopping at Gloss, and guess what…. there are a lot of you! So we decided to get our favorite people involved.  If you haven’t figured it out yet, our super duper customers are the favorite people.  We hope to find a local spokesmodel that not only represents our brand at Gloss but really enjoys Gloss too.

This fun-filled opportunity is an interactive contest between girls and guys and fans of our page www.facebook.com/glossrocks voting for their faves.  Entries must be submitted no later than July 1st for consideration in this years contest. The competition will really heat up throughout July with a special day of makeovers, a professional photo shoot, a fashion show and more challenges and events.
